Project Overview

Fifteen Twelve Interiors’ work had outgrown its website.

The Bristol-based studio creates beautifully considered kitchens and interiors, but its existing website no longer reflected the quality, detail or confidence of the work.

The brief wasn’t simply to redesign it. It was to create a digital experience that gave the projects room to speak for themselves, while making it easier for the right clients to understand the studio, explore its work and start a conversation.

The new website needed to feel every bit as considered as the interiors Fifteen Twelve creates.

The Challenge

For a design-led business, the website forms part of the client’s first impression.

Fifteen Twelve had an exceptional portfolio of completed work, but the website wasn’t making enough of it. Project photography competed with the surrounding interface rather than taking centre stage, while the distinction between kitchen design and wider interior projects wasn’t always immediately clear.

There was also a practical challenge.

Prospective clients needed to understand what Fifteen Twelve Interiors offered, how the design process worked and how to begin a project. The website needed to inspire, but it also needed to provide a clear route from discovering the studio to making an enquiry.

And because so much design inspiration is now explored on phones and tablets, that experience had to work just as convincingly on smaller screens.

The Approach

The redesign was built around a simple principle: let the work lead.

Conversations with the Fifteen Twelve Interiors team established what mattered most to the business, craftsmanship, precision, personal service, long-term relationships and design integrity.

Those qualities became the foundation for the new website.

01 Let the work lead

Photography is central to Fifteen Twelve’s brand, so the new design gives it considerably more space.

Rather than treating projects as conventional galleries, the website presents them more like editorial features. Large images, restrained typography and generous spacing allow the details, materials and character of each interior to become the focus.

The visual approach includes:

  • Large, immersive project photography
  • Editorial-style layouts
  • Generous white space
  • Carefully considered typography
  • A restrained, neutral colour palette
  • Minimal interface elements competing with the imagery

The result feels closer to a design publication than a conventional trade website, an appropriate environment for the work Fifteen Twelve produces.

02 Turn projects into stories

A beautiful finished photograph shows the result of a project, but it doesn’t necessarily communicate the thinking behind it.

The portfolio was therefore restructured to give individual projects more context.

Projects can explain the brief, design considerations, materials, finishes and spatial decisions alongside the photography. Images can be presented in carefully considered sequences rather than simply placed into a gallery.

This helps visitors appreciate not only what Fifteen Twelve Interiors creates, but the level of thought behind the finished space.

Kitchen projects and wider interior schemes can also be distinguished more clearly while remaining part of one consistent visual identity.

03 Explain the expertise

The website needed to do more than inspire.

Potential clients also need to understand what the studio actually does.

Services were reorganised and clarified around the areas in which Fifteen Twelve works, including kitchen design, interior design, bespoke cabinetry and wider renovation collaboration.

The design process was also made more visible, giving prospective clients a clearer understanding of what happens between an initial conversation and a completed interior.

Removing that uncertainty helps someone decide whether the studio is right for their project before they make contact.

04 Create a clearer route to enquiry

A premium website doesn’t need aggressive calls to action on every screen.

It does, however, need to make the next step obvious.

The new structure introduces consultation prompts at appropriate points throughout the website, particularly after visitors have had an opportunity to explore projects and understand the studio’s approach.

Contact information is easier to find and the enquiry journey has been simplified.

The objective isn’t simply to generate more enquiries. It’s to encourage better-informed enquiries from people who already understand the kind of work Fifteen Twelve Interiors does.

05 Make the experience work everywhere

The visual impact of the website couldn’t disappear when viewed on a smaller screen.

Layouts were therefore considered responsively from the outset, allowing photography, typography and content hierarchy to adapt rather than simply shrink.

Particular attention was given to:

  • Mobile and tablet presentation
  • Image quality and performance
  • Typography at different screen sizes
  • Clear navigation and content hierarchy
  • Accessible colour contrast
  • Consistent spacing and visual rhythm

The result retains the character of the desktop experience while remaining straightforward to navigate and use on a phone.

Behind the Design

The most visible part of the redesign is the photography, but much of the work sits underneath it.

The website structure was reconsidered to give individual services and projects clearer roles. Page hierarchy was improved to support search visibility, while images were optimised to balance visual quality with loading performance.

The content management system also gives Fifteen Twelve a practical way to add new projects as the portfolio develops without having to compromise the established design.

This was important. A portfolio website shouldn’t begin to deteriorate visually simply because new work is being added.

The Result

The finished website is quieter, more confident and considerably more visual.

Instead of surrounding the work with unnecessary design elements, the interface deliberately steps back and allows Fifteen Twelve’s interiors to provide much of the personality.

Visitors can move naturally from inspiration to understanding: discovering a project, learning about the studio’s approach, exploring the services available and deciding whether to start a conversation.

Most importantly, the website now feels consistent with the business it represents.

It no longer simply displays Fifteen Twelve’s projects.

It gives them a digital home.

A Website Should Reflect the Work Behind It

For businesses where design, craftsmanship and attention to detail are fundamental to the product, the website can’t feel like an afterthought.

Fifteen Twelve Interiors needed a digital presence that communicated those qualities before a prospective client ever stepped into the studio.

The redesign creates that connection, bringing the presentation of the business much closer to the standard of the work itself.

Let’s create something worth showing.
