Frequently asked questions (FAQs)

Q. How long does it take for a website to be completed?
A. The timescale of a project is usually dictated by the client. If you have a deadline we will endeavour to meet it for you. The most common delay in the creation of a site is waiting for content (text/images).

Q. I would like you to design my site, what do I need to do now? What is the process?
A. If you would like to use our services all you need to do is inform us of the domain name you would like to use and send us a brief idea of your requirements. You can check domain name availability here. We will then purchase the domain in your name, purchase the right hosting package for your project and then based on your guidance, design an initial web page for you. To aid you in this please download these files – please click here (zipped 149kb).

This is then refined/changed in consultation with the client until a satisfactory design has been reached. We will then need you to forward content and images for your site and start to design the website for you. If you do not have these we will create them for you.

Q. Do I need to buy a domain name and hosting?
A. If you have an existing domain name, that’s fine. If you don’t, we do everything for you.

Q. How much will it cost?
A. The cost of a website varies, depending upon the type of site you require. A basic “brochure” site will cost from £499, a content managed site from £999, a more complex eCommerce site from £1399+. Clearly, each site has to be treated on it’s individual requirements, but these figures should give you a general idea.

We request a 35% deposit for all standard sites and 50% for larger database driven projects. The balance of payment is then due on completion of the project.

Payment can be made by cheque, Bank transfer or by using Payal.

The only ongoing cost will be your annual hosting fee.

Q. What do I get for my money?
A. All our designs are created and conceived from your requirements. We don’t use ready made templates, all our sites are designed from scratch.

We aim to give all of our clients affordable websites. You may find a cheaper offer out there and no doubt a lot more expensive solutions.

Q. What happens when I complete your quotation form?
A. If you are making an enquiry about a possible site you would like created, please provide a brief outline of your requirments. We will then mail you back promptly with an idea of price/timescale and any suggestions with regard to your project. You are not obliged to use our services at any stage during this process, so feel free to use the form to ask any related questions you may have.

Q. Do I need to send a deposit for the work?
A. Yes we generally ask for a 50% deposit from new clients.

Q. What is ftp?
A. FTP (File Transfer Protocol) is a method of transferring files to your web server. When a hosting package is purchased ‘ftp details’, consisting of the host name, User ID and password are created by us. Upon completion of the website and receipt of payment for any work carried out, we then send these details to the client.

Q. How do I get listed in Google?
A. We submit all websites we design to Google.

Q. What is optimisation?
A. All web pages should be ‘optimised’. This will enable your site to gain a high search engine ranking. A web page that isn’t optimised won’t be ranked high by Google and other search engines.

Q. Will we need to have a meeting?
A. Yes, we believe it is most important to the formation of a sound business relationship.

Q. What aftersales support do you offer?
A. After the completion of a website project we are available for after sales service. Any support will be charged at an hourly rate of £40.
